The students are doing a wonderful job learning our classroom routines. We start off the day with our calendar, weather and morning message. They have now had their first classes with Mrs. Stanski for Music and Mr. Glasgow for Gym. Our library day is Thursday, so we went and listened to a great story with Mrs. Becker and the students chose their first book to bring home for the week.
We are learning about the letter Cc and the students practiced their printing and coloring. They also worked hard as "letter detectives" to find all the Cc's in our Cc Cheer. Ask your child if they remember what sound the letter Cc makes.
Throughout the month of September we are going to be learning a lot about apples and will be doing some very fun activities. Today we made applesauce!! We will be doing some apple tasting to compare red, green and yellow apples next week.
I asked the students what they know about apples...here were just a few of their ideas.
You can make apple juice with them. (Max)
They are juicy. (Kennedy)
They grow on tree branches. (Connor)
They can be yellow, red or green. (Maggie)
They are crunchy. (Kailey)
Apples have skin. (Olivia)
We started sharing the "Me Bags". Please check your child's backpack for their special items coming home.
See you on Tuesday KT!
